Tacit Tessera — human skills, real value

Company

Tacit Source, and the chain it stands in.

Tacit Tessera is a brand of Tacit Source. Tacit Source is the register and licensor behind it: it holds the software, the register and the count. It holds no consents, and it holds no agreement with the person or the company a skill set came from. That paper sits with Even Steven, on every track.

01What Tacit Source is

Tacit Source is its own company. It writes the software that issues and checks numbers, keeps the register those numbers live in, and keeps the count of every use of a licensed skill set. Tacit Tessera is the name it publishes under — the name that stands in front of every number, and the name on the Book, on the Cards and on the tiles.

Even Steven represents the person. Tacit Tessera represents the provenance and licensed use of their know-how. That is the division of labour, and the rest of this page follows from it.

Tacit Tessera is the rights, provenance and licensing infrastructure that sits between human expertise and machine execution. AI may be one technology used inside the system. It is not the business proposition.

02The chain — four companies

The chain

Steady Eddie and Strategic Agent require skill sets. Even Steven owns them. Tacit Tessera licenses them to OEMs and to AI.

Steady Eddie collects Hands skill sets with the Trainer and runs them on machines, and supplies its own Machine packages. Strategic Agent collects Records skill sets — a professional's retained corpus, a company's records — and runs them in its own command centre, on its own site. Even Steven owns every skill set for the person or company it came from, holds their consents, and is the one paper a Source signs. Tacit Tessera gives each one its number, Card and tile, licenses it to OEMs and to AI, counts every use, and lets anyone check a number.

Who signs with whom
The paperBetweenWhat it settles
The Source's agreement The person or the company a skill set came from, and Even Steven The consents, the name a skill set runs under, and the pay. It holds on every track — Hands, Machine and Records alike. Tacit Source is not a party to it, holds none of it, and asks the Source for nothing.
The corpus licence Even Steven and Tacit Source The arrangement under which Even Steven licenses the body of skill sets it owns to Tacit Source, so that each one can be numbered, carded and licensed on. It moves nobody's ownership of their own skill.
The licence Tacit Source and a licensee — an OEM or an AI One numbered skill set, on any of the three tracks, at a pinned edition, on stated terms — and the count that starts when the work does.

The Source signs with Even Steven, never with Tacit Source. That is structural, not a courtesy. European regulators take the view that an employee can give free consent to an employer only in exceptional circumstances, so the paper is put with a company that is neither their employer nor the register, and the payment follows the use rather than the signature.

Every agreement described on this site is a draft for counsel. The corpus licence is the arrangement between the two companies and has not been drawn up. Nothing is signed yet and no money has moved.

03Sectors — how the register is divided

The register is divided into sectors before it is divided into anything else. A sector is the top division, and its letter leads every number: C Construction · O Office · A Agriculture · P Professions · T Trades & crafts · S Self. All six are open. Each keeps its own trades and its own family table, track by track, because the families that make sense on a pipeline spread make none in a drawing office.

Construction and Office hold what is filed today. Agriculture, Professions, Trades & crafts and Self are open, with nothing filed yet. Opening a sector, a family or a trade is a decision of the register, recorded in the standard; a code is never renamed and never reused, and a retired one stays reserved. Inside Tacit Source a sector is a division, which is how a register that takes in every kind of skill set stays legible.

04Why the separation is built rather than stated

A register that also trades on what passes through it has an interest in what it records. The European Data Governance Act treats that as a problem to be settled structurally: a data intermediation service must act as an intermediary and not use the data it exchanges for any other purpose, must price neutrally, and must be provided through a separate legal person from the provider's other activities.

Whether this register is a data intermediation service under that Regulation is an open question for counsel, and it is not answered here. The separation is built the way the Act would require of one. The house that holds a Source's consents and the company that licenses the work and counts the uses are two companies, not two departments and not two paragraphs of policy. Neither can quietly mark its own homework.

A separation of that kind belongs in incorporation papers, not in a sentence on a website; those papers are with counsel and are not drawn. It is also why the operator program was taken out of Steady Eddie and made into Even Steven: an instrument that speaks for the person has to be able to say no to the machine company.

05The three houses

A skill set reaches the register through a house. There are three, and they stand on equal terms. The register depends on none of them. A house is not a Source: the Source is the person whose way of working it is, or the company whose records a reference is built from. The mark on a tile is the mark of the house that collected the skill set, so a tile carries ES where Even Steven collected it, SE where Steady Eddie did, and SA where Strategic Agent did; ownership is said on the Card and on the licence.

Even Steven · the owner

Even Steven owns what is made of every skill, for the person or company it came from, holds the consents and holds the pay. It is the one paper a Source signs. No capture session has ever been recorded.

Even Steven

Steady Eddie · the collector on Hands and Machine

Steady Eddie is a division of Sustainable Infrastructure Group Ltd. It collects Hands skill sets with the Trainer, a kit in a case, wired to nothing, and supplies its own Machine packages, licensed through Tacit Tessera like the rest.

Steady Eddie

Strategic Agent · the collector on Records

Strategic Agent collects skill sources. It captures a professional's skill set from the corpus they retained over a career, and a business's back office from the company's own records, and turns each into a reference. Its product and its site are its own.

The standing line

No capture session has been recorded, no operator has been signed, nothing has been metered and nobody has been paid. Every entry in the Book reads Specified, and every person shown on this site is an EXAMPLE.

The words on this site are defined once, in the glossary. The register itself is the Tacit Tessera Book, and any number in it can be checked at verify. Anything else reaches contact.
