The register for skill sets, of every kind

Every skill has a source.

Tacit Tessera is the register and licensor of skill sets. A skill set is one named person's way of running one family of machine; or a package a machine runs; or a professional's own practice, captured from the corpus they retained over a career and mined into a reference. Each one gets a Tacit Tessera number that is never reused, a sealed Card, a distinct tile and an edition. A skill set is licensed, never sold. It is counted on every use, and the source stays on it.

Every entry on the register reads Specified — written down and numbered, not issued. No capture session has ever been recorded.

SectorsThe register's seven divisions

Seven sectors, one register.

A sector is the top division of the register and the first letter of every number. Each sector keeps its own trades and its own families, track by track, so an excavator and a drawing office are never filed against the same list.

Construction and Office hold what is filed today: every Hands and Machine entry, the machine's own manual set, and the first eight seats of the Office sector. Agriculture, Professions, Trades & crafts and Self are open, with nothing filed yet. Opening a sector, a family or a trade is a decision of the register, recorded in the standard; a code is never renamed and never reused.

What a sector is, and how one is opened

Three kinds of skill set.

Track H · Hands

A named person's way of running one family of machine, held with that person's consent and asked for by name. Steady Eddie collects it with the Trainer, a kit in a case, wired to nothing.

Track M · Machine

A Machine-track entry is a way of working taught to or loaded on a machine by Steady Eddie, not a named person's; it is chosen before the work starts, proposes, and never authorizes.

Track R · Records

A professional's skill set, captured from the corpus they retained over a career and mined into a reference that answers with named sources and refuses when the records do not support an answer. A business's back office is built the same way, from the company's own records. Strategic Agent collects it.

Steady Eddie and Strategic Agent require skill sets. Even Steven owns them. Tacit Tessera licenses them to OEMs and to AI.

CollectSteady Eddie collects Hands skill sets with the Trainer and supplies its own Machine packages. Strategic Agent is a skill source collector: it turns a professional's retained corpus, or a company's records, into a reference.

OwnEven Steven owns what is made of every skill — the recorded session, the converted paper, the taught package — on every track, for the person or company the skill came from; the skill itself stays the person's. It holds the consents, and it is the one paper a Source signs.

NumberTacit Tessera gives a skill set its sector letter and number, its sealed Card and its tile, counts every use, and lets anyone check a number.

The numberTen characters, the sector first

A number says where a skill set belongs.

A Tacit Tessera number reads sector, track, family, sequence, trade and edition: C H 3 001 MN · 1, and in machine form CH3001MN1Q. The tenth character is a check character, computed and never typed, so a mistyped number can be told from a real one before the register is asked. A number is never reused and never reassigned, and only the register issues one.

Its seal can be checked at tacittessera.com/verify/CH3001MN1Q. Nothing is kept as a verdict; every lookup is recomputed from the sealed Card, which is why a printed card's authority is the address and not the plastic.

Four things, and nothing else.

License A licence names who may run a skill set and pins the edition they run. What stands behind it is the money owed, the count and the deletion — never the machine, the job or the output.
Meter One signed row serves as clearance, invoice and pay. The audit runs from both ends, because being paid and being paid correctly are not the same thing.
Protect Consent is four separate papers, each given and ended on its own. The source stays on the skill set. Nothing here ranks, grades or scores a person.
Scale A number written into a specification or a tender reaches machines through their makers and kit companies, and reaches offices through the AI your business already uses.

Something to hold

At issue, a skill set is made twice over as an object — a plate for the shelf and a card for the wallet, both in the tile's own colour, posted to the Source. The physical Tacit Tessera. None has been made: nothing is issued.
