Tacit Tessera — human skills, real value

For the person in the seat

In plain words.

The rest of this site is written for the companies that license a way of working, and for their lawyers. These five pages are for you: the person who actually does the work.

01One thing before anything else

One company asks for your signature

Your agreement is with Even Steven.

We are Tacit Tessera. We keep the list, we make the plates that carry the numbers, and we count the hours a way of working is in use. We never ask you to sign anything, and there is nothing on this site to join.

Every paper you put your name to, every yes you give and every payment you are owed sits with Even Steven. That is where it starts and that is where it stays. If something on these pages matters to you, take it to them. That is not us passing you along; it is where your paper actually is.

02And it is not only the seat

Some of this starts in a machine seat. Some of it starts in a filing cabinet. If you are an engineer, or you have run your own shop, the way you work is already written down — in your calculations, your reports, your job files, your notes. That paper can be turned into something a company pays to use, the same way an hour in a seat can.

It makes no difference to the part that matters. Whether what you bring is time in a seat or a career of paper, the agreement is with Even Steven, the yes is yours to give one piece at a time, you are paid when it is used, and you can stop it. The longer version of the paper side is on Bring your records, written in the same plain way.

03Nothing has happened yet

No day in a seat has been recorded. Nobody is on the list. No hour has been counted and nobody has been paid. No card and no plate has been made for anybody. Every page here says how this is built to work, written down before any of it runs, so you can read it in the cold and make up your own mind. If a page ever reads as though it has already happened, that page is wrong.

05Where a question goes

Anything about your own agreement, your own yes or your own money goes to Even Steven, because that is whose paper it is. Anything about what a number on a plate means, or how an hour is counted once a way of working is in use, is what these five pages are for. There is nothing here to sign and nobody here to sign it with.

Your paper is with Even Steven

Talk to the company you would be signing with.

Even Steven holds the agreements, answers the questions and pays the money. Their pages are written the same way these ones are.
